Law
Gokul Haridas specializes in insurance law at TIC – while
drawing on a wide range of experience in other areas of the
law. As an integral part of the TIC's growing insurance law
department, he advises on claim and compensation issues with
cases ranging from personal and automotive to commercial insurance
and workman's compensation.
Ministry of Manpower
Prior to joining the firm, Gokul was an Assistant Commissioner
with the Ministry of Manpower. He heard claims under the Work
Injury Compensation Act; prosecuted offences under the Workplace
Safety and Health Act, Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, Employment
Act and Employment Agencies Act.
Attorney-General's Chambers
Early in his career Gokul also served with the Attorney-General's
Chambers where he prosecuted various criminal offences.
Arbitration
Being a member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, Gokul
is also able to serve clients seeking alternative dispute resolution.
Construction Law
Gokul holds a Master of Science in Construction Law and Arbitration
from King's College London and The National University of Singapore.
He is on the editorial team of the Society of Construction Law.
Law Society
From 2002 to 2005, he was the Director for Community Relations
with the Law Society of Singapore, where he oversaw the administration
of the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS) and its other pro bono
initiatives. During this period, he was one of the editors publishing
the monthly CLAS Newsletters.
Lecturing
Gokul has also lectured in Criminal Law, Law of Contract , Commercial
Law , Law of Succession and Jurisprudence with the University
of London external undergraduate programme.
