Law
Effie specialises in property law. She has acted for individual
and corporate clients on property transactions that include sale,
purchase, mortgage, refinancing and charge of residential properties,
and also on lease of residential and commercial properties. She
has also represented major banks in Singapore in respect of loan
and mortgage transactions.
Comprehensive Experience
Prior to joining TIC LLP, Effie worked with other local law firms
where she practiced property law. In addition, she has worked
in the Civil Service, where she was a Legal Counsel with the National
Environment Agency, involved in legislative drafting; the vetting
and drafting of tenancy contracts and temporary occupation licences;
and providing general legal advice to internal departments.
UK Trained
She graduated from the University of Leeds, UK in 1996 and went
on to be called as an Utter Barrister (Lincoln's Inn) at the Bar
for England and Wales in 1997. She was admitted as an Advocate
and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore on 15 May 1999.
In
her spare time, she wrote "Underground & Other Stories"
– a collection of short stories published by Ethos Books
in 2002.
